Cut back trees and brush near your dog run and keep the grass cut short to reduce the chance of your dog picking up ticks when he goes out for his morning constitutional. If he picks up fleas, you may need to sprinkle Sevin powder or use a flea and tick spray on the yard. Always read the directions and warnings on these products before you use them. Often, you cannot allow your dogs to use the yard for a day or so after treating it.
