Ask your veterinarian about using a Preventic dog collar. This way, your dog receives small, continuous doses of the same ingredient in the Mitaban dip that helps destroy the Demodectic mange mites.

  1. my flat coated retriever has a skin problem – has very hot ears which are very thick skin compared to her sisters – also has very itchy skin which has now developed into soars, we have used special shampoo’s, creams, treated her for mange, fleas, mites, fed her special diets of high protein etc, now she is on steriods which worked a few weeks ago but doesnt seem to be now, also read up on organic things and have tried porridge, and honey

  2. Hi Angie,
Is her skin darker than the skin on her sisters? If so, it sounds like she may have a food allergy. Look for a food specially formulated for dogs that have food allergies. For more information, take a look at Marvista Vet’s dog allergy page. Does she chew on a lot of rawhides?
When she was treated for mange, did the vet do a skin scraping to make sure she didn’t have demodectic mange?
