What a doll! But a nice hair bow or a bang trim would probably really be appreciated. I should know. I currently have the same hair cut and am desperate for enough time to get to the hair stylist to get it fixed.

I had a lovely black and white cat that looks like she is about to deliver kittens arrive on my door sill over the weekend. Please, if you get a new pet for Christmas, don’t forget to neuter it and if you can’t keep it for some reason in the future, don’t just drop it by a barn thinking the farmer will take care of it.
My local farmer can’t take in the strays people drop off and they wander across the street looking for food and shelter. Many of them are killed by passing cars or wild animals before any of us can rescue them. And then we have to drop them twenty minutes away at the overcrowded shelter or come up with money for vet bills so we can make sure they are not carrying anything that can make our pets sick before we bring them into our households until we can find them permanent homes.

This guy actually seems to enjoy wearing his reindeer antlers, but my Sophie won’t keep hers on long enough for me to pick up the camera and shoot a picture. He looks very dignified for a dog wearing red antlers, doesn’t he?

I had a very worrying question from a reader today:
How do i know if my dog has rabies?
Many people think that rabies is something that kind of went out with Old Yeller. It isn’t. This summer, my neighbor had a raccoon with rabies on her porch. Feral cats and stray dogs can also really cause problems with rabies.
There is a list of symptoms, including the classic foaming at the mouth and odd behavior. However, if you suspect your dog has been exposed to rabies, you should get to your veterinarian immediately, even if there are no symptoms. This is especially essential if your dog is not up to date on shots.
